I just dropped by to visit Greg at Geekhouse and to make sure everything with my bike was up to snuff. I was pleasantly surprised but I can’t believe I have to stare at my bike for three days in a booth before I get to ride it!

On our way to NAHBS 14 hour drive after an all nighter…

RVA

We got the chance to do a few walk-arounds while setting up for NAHBS tonight. Briefly, wow.  I’ve never seen such amazing bikes- much less 100+ collections of them.  We’re really excited to be here so be sure to come say ‘Hi’ at the Geekhouse Bikes booth tomorrow.

Can’t stop smiling standing next to my new bike! NAHBS is going great … Way too many beautiful bikes around but mine truely blows all of them out of Richmond. Marty is the bestttttt

ahahhahahahahhahhaha.. broke down the whole booth, re-packed the van, 10 hours on the road, back in Allston- couldn’t fall asleep because of the Red Bull, just realized I still have a badge on.  OK. BEDTIME. NOW.

I have no clue what a kilometer is.

Princess and I enjoying the warm weather in South Boston

Didn’t ride a bike from Thursday to Sunday, I haven’t seen Bianca since Tuesday, and Mar Mar has been in New York since Friday.

..but DID make it up to 54WPM so, overall, not a bad Spring break!

Flipping through old clip art books this morning and found this image that reminded me of when Greg and I wanted to ride tandem cross country… HA, this is a spitting image of what we would have looked like in the 40’s though :)

We’re leaving on a bike trip in 70 days?
— Greg to me on gchat this morning

Greg and I need to start mapping out a route… it’s all very exciting!

I am going to have to find a way to turn the Boston Blazer’s Pandora commercial into an mp3 or else I am going to miss it out on the road.  FIRE UP!

Rain Rain Go Away Bianca and I Must Train Today

My friend sent me this email last night:

I found a book of Frank O'Hara poems in my bag today.  I was reading it on the bus and this stanza was totally
Bianca:
My new home will be full
of wood, roots and the like,
while I pace in a turtleneck
sweater, repairing my bike.

What an adventure!

On a splendid Thursday bike ride Bianca and I got our bikes tangled in on the road in Central Sq. and long story short I’ve got a broken collarbone.  I had a blast at MGH and made a TON of friends!

You better believe the trip is still on and we’re doing some re-organizing now.  Believe it or not we finally ordered maps (!!!) so expect some details on our route and all that  trip-jazz coming soon!  Thanks for all of the support for my lame-o collarbone, what a wuss- right?

Good luck with the mend

Beautiful 20 mile ride this morning at 6am out to Arlington… Getting the day started right

Starting some interesting conversations at the bar with fellow travelers.

Uh Oh! In my infinite time spent blogging for a million different outlets I have fallen behind.  Posts here have been few and far between but, like always, it’s all for a good cause!  Bianca and I are officially done with classes and we’re both eagerly awaiting May 23rd when we get to walk across the stage and receive our $80,000 pieces of paper saying that we accomplished something over the last four years

My bike is almost done and after a small setback in the paint department should be completed by this time next week!  While I’ve had a blast walking and using what the locals refer to as the “T” I’m very ready to ride again.  My collarbone is feeling great! I think it is actually stronger than it was before but we’ll see.. Today I carried a backpack ALL day. Impressive right?

We’ll be back in the swing of things soon enough.  I know I’ll be all over New England getting our my ready for the big departure around July 1st- so shoot me an e-mail if you want me to come visit you, I’m feeling flabby and need to start logging some miles as soon as I tighten that saddle down.

Expect a new update e-mail soon.. if you aren’t on the e-mail list just drop me a line at gregralich@gmail.com and I’ll see what I can do.
